The latest yoga trend hitting America is Facial Yoga – designed as the natural alternative to Botox and plastic surgery. Developed by Annelise Hagen, of New York Yoga and author of The Yoga Face, the techniques are claimed to reduce wrinkles and help people look younger by prolonging the production of collagen by practising exercises including fish face”, lion face” and “satchmo”.
ANOTHER STUDY CASTS DOUBTS ON ORGANIC FOOD
Another study into organic food by the American Academy of Pediatrics, has found no direct evidence” that eating organic food leads to better health in children despite the extra costs. The report said organic foods have the same vitamins, minerals and other nutrients as conventional foods, although the lower levels of pesticides are less likely to carry certain forms of bacteria, which may important for growing children. Researchers say it is more important that kids eat a healthy diet with lots of fruit, vegetables, whole grains and low-fat dairy products -whether organic or not.

FRENCH GOVERNMENT COULD PAY FOR EXERCISE
Yoga and gym memberships could be the next thing French doctors prescribe, after a recent report by the National Academy of Medicine suggests that exercise should be in the list of prescriptions covered by social security to encourage French people to improve their health.
‘Exercise prescription’ has been in place in the UK since 2001, with doctors aiming to fight obesity, coronary disease and diabetes with schemes including reduced gym membership fees.
