Edward Z. Tronick is a developmental and clinical experimental psychologist who studies the dysfunctions between mothers and young children by using the research tools of nonverbal communication. His observations highlight mechanisms that are often relevant for psychotherapists. Tronick’s Individual System
Let me begin with an example of selection from messiness: the infant learning to play peekaboo.
