YOGA MAY HELP CANCER SURVIVORS SLEEP BETTER

A new study published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology, reports that cancer survivors who practised low-intensity yoga twice a week for 75 minutes reported better sleep quality and cut their use of sleep medications by 21 percent. Over 400 cancer survivors took part in a month-long Yoga for Cancer Survivors programme, which combined breathing exercises, restorative poses and meditation. Those from the study group who did not practise yoga, reported an increase of sleep medications by 5 percent each week.
