A new study by California’s Loma Linda University on more than 70.000 people, showed that vegetarians and men who spurn meat were 12 percent less likely to die during a six-year period than carnivores. The risk of heart disease and blocked arteries was also reduced in men. yet women did not enjoy these benefits – but all vegetarians were less likely to suffer from high blood pressure and diabetes.

Yoga Manchester have designed a wonderful ‘Lichtenstein’ inspired class information flyer, illustrated by their designer Eddie Sadowski. The flyer features ‘Yoga Tina’ (Tina being an acronym for There Is No Alternative’ as in there is no alternative to yoga!) The short story was influenced by many recent news articles about the amount of people giving up their hardly used gym memberships to opt for the wonderful practice of yoga, finding it to be much more beneficial for both the mind and the body. yoga-manchester.co.uk
YOGALONDON LAUNCHES ITS FIRST 5OO-HOUR TEACHER TRAINING COURSE
Europe’s largest Vinyasa flow teacher training school, YogaLondon, is running a Yoga Alliance soo-hour training course for the first time this year. The course is broken down into three distinct modules, each exploring a different aspect of yoga from asana and pranayama through to Sanskrit and chanting. Module three, The Dharma Module, is an outreach project – putting the yamas and niyamas into practice and helping students to take the yoga ethos off the mat and into the community.
