Plant-Based Eating, Manipulating Your Dreams And Cannabis Truths

I claim to rarely dream, so I was fascinated by your article ‘Live your dream life’ (February issue).

I have a friend who has the most fantastically detailed dreams, always meeting very important people, from politicians to the Queen, and he seems to be a happier person for it. He even writes stories about them.

I intend to give the tips suggested in the article a try (such as repeating affirmations as I go to sleep, keeping a dream journal, spotting recurring motifs and checking I’m dreaming while aware, before using my dreams to help me figure things out). Who knows how it might enrich my life and help me to reach my goals, and overcome my obstacles. I’ve been a vegetarian tor over 20 years, but this year I decided to go vegan. So I was delighted to read your article in the March issue (‘Eat lean and green’) on how burger-loving fitness coach and TV presenter Joe Wicks (aka The Body Coach) is embracing plant-based eating. The article also included some recipes from his new book, Veggie Lean in 15 (Bluebird, £16.99).

If was reassuring to learn that it’s a myth that you can’t be in great shape if you go vegan. Being a vegan does not affect how I exercise or how often I do it. And one of the many paths that people can take to achieve a long and healthy life is changing their eating habits and turning to a vegan diet. I loved the recipes and have tried a couple already. Thank you.

Your article in the February issue on cannabis oil, ‘The truth about CBD oil’, was refreshingly well informed and educated me further on a topic that is not understood well amongst doctors. As a doctor in the NHS, if is reassuring that there will be some evidence-based NICE guidelines to help us use this appropriately. Thank you H&F for being one of the magazines that do their homework!
