With our busy lives, sometimes it can be hard to fit in a workout or make sure we’re physically active enough. In a new study by Stanford University, it was found that women took over 1,000 less steps than men a day in Britain and women who take the fewest steps have a 200 per cent increased risk of becoming obese.

The data was collected from smartphone fitness apps from 55,110 participants. The research also showed that women were 36 per cent more likely than men to be considered physically inactive.
