I am so happy to be able to feel the freshness of rain, I am grateful when the sun breaks through; I am in wonder when I am warm but not distressed by the heat. I do not accept this national whining about the weather in England. Bring on the fog, ice, snow, sleet, hail and wind. I have missed you all, really.
The other thing that is global whining with vengeance that has really got to me a bit is the “R” word. The media in particular is still talking recession.

I really wish they would change their tune. This has lasted now since 2008 (it is now 2012). Stop telling everyone this, it just becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. It is nonsense to think like this and feel doom and gloom all the time.
Again if anyone mentions the “R” word to me, I do not even bother to argue with them, I just change the subject to something much more positive (like the lovely rain we are having LOL).
Please think about what you say and the way that you say it. Have you ever played the deathbed game? This is quite a sobering way to think and I have found it useful, apart from the rather bleak outlook! Imagine you are on your deathbed and looking back over your life. Sitting in judgement on your own painting. What do you remember the most? Maybe some of your successes but you are much more likely to remember the troubles in your life and the way that you overcame them.
